نامزدهای شانزدهمین مراسم معتبر برترین بازی‌های سال Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences اعلام شدند که بازی «سفر» (Journey) با نامزد شدن در ۱۱ بخش مختلف دیگر رقبا را کنار زده است. همچین بازی «مردگان متحرک» با هشت، «فارکرای ۳» با هفت، «هیلو ۴» با شش و دو بازی «سرزمین‌های مرزی ۲» و «سرافکنده» (DisHonored) با پنج بار نامزدشدن در رده های بعد هستند.
